You hold the key to the prison that is your mind. This key is possessed in your heart..
As hard as it may be to hear at first, to really know how to be free from herpes you first have to understand that all suffering is based on our state of mind and therefore is a choice we make in each moment. Nothing will relieve you greater than the knowing that YOU control your life and all that you experience. This means you have the ability at ANY moment to change and design your reality.
“Since emotional processes can work faster than the mind, it takes a power stronger than the mind to bend perception, override emotional circuitry, and provide us with intuitive feeling instead. It takes the power of the heart.” ~ Doc Childre, Founder, Institute of HeartMath
“The thoughts we choose to think are the tools we use to paint the canvas of our lives.” ~ Louise L. Hay
Although it would seem transcending our thoughts and mental beliefs would be done within the mind, it is actually not the case. No issue is solved from the same point of consciousness that created it. Most often we attempt to operate this way and find ourselves going around in perpetual loops of self-condemnation and limited perceptions, keeping us bound to suffering. When we have created any issue in our lives we promptly address it through the same mentality and mindset that generated it in the first place. This approach never truly offers any attainment of clarity or peace. There needs to be a withdrawal of the mind and it’s habitual, controlling influences, so that the subtle space of the heart and ‘higher mind’ can get through.
“Corrective learning begins with the awakening of spirit, and the turning away from belief in physical sight.” ~ A Course in Miracles
Our minds are automatic, computer-like systems that react and perform according to stimuli. Everything we currently think and feel has been molded from our collective experiences over our lives. Our likes and dislikes, views and beliefs, opinions and characteristics, values and virtues, all have been a result of our past. Everything that has taken place in our life has shaded our perception to become what it is today.
This means that every single event and moment we have experienced, especially as a child has had with it certain tones, energies and qualities to them that at the very time of occurring had the impact of connecting certain associated ways of viewing that phenomenon. An example is if a person had a frightening experience of being attacked by a dog in their life to go on to having a deep fear of dogs further in their later life. A person who never had this experience would not have the same view and relationship to dogs as the first. This is how our perceptions have arrived at the vantage point they exist from for each individual. We are purely just a dynamic, flowing entity of a collection of experiences gathered along the journey of life.
“You may believe that you are responsible for what you do, but not for what you think. The truth is that you are responsible for what you think, because it is only at this level that you can exercise choice. What you do comes from what you think.” ~ A Course in Miracles
